Nanping Mountain

Nanping Mountain is located in the center of Quanjiao County and is divided into four major scenic areas: Bifeng Yuxiu (Elegant Pen Peak), Nanyue Qingxiao (Sunny Skies over Mount Nanyue), Xiangshui Huanqing (Clear Waters Around Xiangshui), and Wangfeng Pavilion. The area boasts lush vegetation, towering ancient trees, and birds singing in the woods, making it a traditional gathering place for literati and scholars to compose poetry. Bifengjian is the highest peak of Nanping Mountain. In ancient times, on the Double Ninth Festival, scholars from Quanjiao would often carry wine and wear chrysanthemums to climb Bifengjian, composing poems and exchanging verses. This scene is known as Bifeng Yuxiu, one of the Eight Ancient Scenic Spots of Quanjiao. Another of Quanjiao’s ancient eight scenic spots located on Nanping Mountain is Nanyue Qingxiao, which depicts the gathering of local scholars at the Nanyue Temple during the spring and autumn seasons to engage in literary exchanges. Additionally, other attractions on Nanping Mountain such as the Bifeng Pagoda, Bonsai Garden, Yinian Garden, Rock Garden, Chanjing Garden, and the Water Scenic Area are also well worth visiting.

Transportation: From Quanjiao Railway Station, take bus routes 3 or 11 to reach the site; by car, exit the Hefei–Nanjing Expressway at the Quanjiao interchange, drive 4 kilometers toward the county town to arrive at the scenic area.
