Tomb of Wu Pei

The Tomb of Wu Pei is a cultural heritage protection unit of Quanjiao County.

The Tomb of Wu Pei is located in Longwo, northwest of Biyun Lake. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty, is categorized as an ancient tomb, and covers an area of 200 square meters. It is listed as part of the third batch of cultural heritage protection units in Quanjiao County, with the official announcement number Quan Zheng [2007] No. 32.

Construction control zone: an additional 50 meters beyond the protected area.

Wu Pei (1577–1631), styled Zongyi and also known as Hairuo, later referred to himself as Chuyuan in his later years, was a native of Quanjiao, Anhui. He was the son that Wu Qian had late in life and the great-grandfather of Wu Jingzi. According to the "Biography of Wu Pei" in the Quanjiao Annals, Wu Pei lived to be fifty-five years old and passed away in the fourth year of the Chongzhen era, the year of Xinwei (1631). Calculating backward, he was born in the fifth year of the Wanli era, the year of Dingchou (1577). Likely due to his father Wu Qian’s profession as a physician, the family had some modest wealth, which enabled Wu Pei to receive an education.
