The Jǔxiàn Martyrs' Cemetery serves as a patriotic education base.

Jǔxiàn is a veteran revolutionary base area with a proud tradition of revolution. During the revolutionary war years, the people of the base area responded to the Party's call, actively joined the revolutionary cause, and 3,549 individuals sacrificed their precious lives throughout the revolutionary wars.

The Jǔxiàn Martyrs' Cemetery was established in September 1944 and completed in May 1945. It is a provincial and municipal-level martyrs' memorial facility protection unit, as well as a provincial and municipal-level patriotic education base. It is one of the earliest 46 wartime martyrs' memorial facilities built in Shandong during the Anti-Japanese War and also one of the 18 comprehensive martyrs' cemeteries in Shandong Province. The main commemorative structures within the cemetery include the Anti-Japanese Martyrs' Memorial Tower, the Martyrs’ Shrine, along with several local monuments commemorating famous battles and martyrs such as the Mengjiaxilou Battle Martyrs' Monument, the Song Shoutian Martyrs' Monument, the Cao Jiting Martyrs' Tower, the Wang Yupu Martyrs' Tower, and the Zhang Tong’en Martyrs' Monument. Additionally, the cemetery displays the deeds of Wang Jinmei, Shandong Province’s first Communist Party member, and those of several other martyrs, as well as accounts of key battles.

To strengthen the renovation and maintenance of martyrs' memorial facilities and to promote the synchronized development of martyr commemoration efforts with socioeconomic progress, the Jǔxiàn County Party Committee and County Government have placed high importance on this mission. Starting from early 2012, they were the first in the city to complete the centralized relocation of scattered martyrs’ graves. In early 2013, in accordance with the standards of a provincial-level martyrs' cemetery and while preserving the existing memorial facilities, they invested over 20 million yuan in expansion and renovation, constructing a number of landmark buildings including the Jǔxiàn Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall and the Martyrs’ Monument. Veteran revolutionaries and former members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee personally inscribed the names “Jǔxiàn Martyrs' Cemetery” and “Jǔxiàn Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial Hall.”
