The Ancient Architectural Complex of Suixi Old Street is located on the north side of the western section of Huaihai Road in Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province.

The Ancient Architectural Complex of Suixi Old Street is located on the north side of the western section of Huaihai Road in Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui Province. The complex was first built in the eighth year of the Yongzheng reign during the Qing Dynasty (1730). It stretches 650 meters in total length and varies in width from 5 to 7 meters. The entire street is paved with mismatched bluestone slabs of varying specifications. The stone slabs are 0.8 meters long, 0.4 to 0.5 meters wide, and 0.25 to 0.3 meters thick. The road surface has a 3% camber, and pedestrian shoulder stones are laid along both sides of the street to drain surface water. The eastern end connects to the western embankment of the old Suixi River. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the street was shifted to the north side, connecting to Hou Street. The surrounding buildings date from the Qing Dynasty to the Republican period, featuring gray-tiled walls and blue bricks, with heavy-beam structures. Aside from a few houses renovated with modern materials, most retain their original appearance, providing valuable physical material for the study of ancient architecture. Suixi Old Town’s bluestone-paved street is a microcosm of Suixi’s history and a testament to the birthplace of Kouzi liquor culture. It holds significant physical value for the research and verification of local history.

Protected Area: Ten key structures including the former headquarters of the Fourth Division of the New Fourth Army, shops and residences at No. 52 and No. 56 Qian Street in Suixi, the shop and residence at No. 58 Qian Street, Yuguo Merchant House, the shop and residence at No. 71 Qian Street, Jinling Guild Hall, the residence at No. 106 Qian Street, the shop and residence at No. 124 Qian Street, No. 0- within the courtyard of No. 135 Qian Street, and the shop and residence at No. 137 Qian Street, as well as the eight historic lanes: the bluestone-paved street itself, Nan’ge Lane, Dangdian Lane, Jiudao Wan Lane, Jianshe Lane, Ping’an Li Lane, Yandian Lane, Shui Lane, and Gan Lane.

Construction Control Zone: East to the west bank of the old Suixi River, west to the western boundary line of Guan Di Miao Lane, south to the northern boundary line of Nan Street, and north to the southern boundary line of Hou Street, outside the protected area.
