Shangkoumen Sluice Water Conservancy Scenic Area

Shangkoumen Sluice Water Conservancy Scenic Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Shangkoumen Sluice is located in Jing Mountain Lake, Huaiyuan, commonly known as Dahe Bay. It is a national 3A-level scenic area. The sluice is 20 km from downtown Bengbu. As a large (Type 2) sluice, its main structures are classified as Grade 2, secondary structures as Grade 3, and it is designed to withstand earthquakes of magnitude VII. It adopts an open-type sluice design, featuring a total of 30 bays, with a clear width of 10 m per bay, and the sluice chamber has a total width of 340.6 m. The designed flood discharge water level is 23.85 m on the Huai River side and 24.0 m on the lake side, with a designed flood discharge capacity of 3,500 cubic meters per second and a reverse inflow flood capacity of 2,000 cubic meters per second; the flood control design water level is 23.85 m on the Huai River side and 24.0 m on the lake side. The approved total investment is 145.2 million yuan. As a modern water conservancy project, Shangkoumen Sluice lies like a long dragon across the Huai River, majestic and grand, surrounded by pleasant scenery, forming a renowned water conservancy scenic area.

Transportation

By car: 1) From Huaiyuan County, head due west, drive 1.5 km along Yudu Avenue, then go straight onto S307; 2) Drive 550 m along S307, then go straight onto the Second Wuh River Bridge; 3) Drive 190 m along the Second Wuh River Bridge, after crossing the bridge and driving about 200 m, go straight onto S307; 4) Drive 2.2 km along S307, then turn left onto S225; 5) Drive 2.1 km along S225 to reach the destination (on the right side of the road).
