Tongluo Village

Tongluo Village is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural heritage site under the protection of Huoshan County.

Tongluo Village is located 68 kilometers southwest of Huoshan County. According to the *Huoshan County Annals* from the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty: “Tongluo Village stretches from Baimajian, with a solitary peak standing tall, beneath which lies the Songjian Yijia Cliff. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, when Zhang Xianzhong invaded, the local residents took refuge on the mountain. When the bandits approached, they rang gongs to rally the people, and once the invaders left, they came out to farm again. Hence the name 'Copper Gong Village.'” Tongluo Village was established during the Ming Dynasty. The village’s solitary peak rises prominently, with its main peak reaching an elevation of 1,096 meters. The area features steep, dramatic cliffs, uniquely shaped pine trees, and peculiar rocks. Attractions include Sister Pines, Family Harmony Pines, Stone-supported Welcoming Pines, as well as South Heaven Gate Rock, Lovers’ Rock, and Divine Elephant Playing with Water Rock. Below the village lies the Bathing Hot Spring. Thanks to its unique pines, bizarre rocks, sea of clouds, and hot springs, it enjoys the reputation of being the “Little Huangshan of the North.”

As the saying goes: the benevolent enjoy mountains, and the wise enjoy water. Most magnificent scenic areas are defined by the harmony of mountain and water. Mountains without water lack charm, and water without mountains lacks interest. The beautiful and serene Tongluo Lake is affectionately referred to by visitors as the “Village’s Xi Shi.”
