Red Zone Central Memorial Park

To commemorate martyrs, inspire the present, educate future generations, and develop the red tourism industry, the Huoshan County Party Committee and County Government built the Huoshan County Martyrs' Cemetery in 1986. It has since become a key martyrs' memorial site under special protection in Anhui Province and a provincial patriotism education base. In 2008, guided by the tourism development philosophy of “centralized display, decentralized protection, and the integration of red, green, and ancient elements,” construction began on the “Anhui Red Zone Central Memorial Park” on this foundation.

The park is located in the southwest corner of Huoshan County, surrounded by undulating mountains, lush greenery, murmuring streams, and birdsong. It covers an area of 17.1 hectares, with a plaza area of 1.5 hectares. The total project investment exceeded 25 million yuan, and it was completed in May 2009.

The memorial park is divided into two parts: the mountain and the base.

The base is the plaza of the Anhui Red Zone Central Memorial Park, named “Red Source Plaza.” It mainly consists of nine sections: the Rolling Torrent, Eight Revolutionary History Walls, Four First Historical Monument Pillars, the Map of the Anhui Red Zone Center, the Dabie Mountain Revolutionary Heroes Group Sculpture, the Dabie Mountain Revolutionary History Relief Wall, the Statue of Martyr Shu Chuanxian, the Martyrs’ Wall and Tomb, and the Stele Corridor.

The mountain section mainly includes: the Anhui Red Zone Central Memorial Hall (four parallel single-story buildings covering an area of over 800 square meters), the Liuhuo Uprising Memorial Pavilion, the Chuanxian Pavilion, and the Pi Xi Pavilion.

The Anhui Red Zone Central Memorial Park serves as both a base for revolutionary tradition and patriotism education in Anhui Province, and a cultural landscape that combines ideological and artistic values. It is an ideal place for people to pay tribute, learn, travel, and relax.

By using greenery to enhance the appeal of red tourism and red tourism to promote green development, the initiative ensures the sustainable growth of red tourism.
