Longjing River Grand Canyon is located on the northern side of Baimajian, the main peak of the Dabie Mountains, just 4 kilometers from Baimajian Forest Park. The canyon stretches 15 kilometers in length, reaches a depth of 400 meters, and varies in width from 40 to 300 meters. It features clusters of waterfalls, rugged rocks scattered across the landscape, and verdant mountains standing opposite each other, creating a majestic and spectacular scene.

Entering the canyon along a shepherd’s path, you’ll find undulating mountain ranges and peaks rising one after another. A stream flows gently downward, its rippling waves forming the timeless melody of joy echoing through the Longjing River of Duigushan. The riverbed is strewn with rocks of all shapes and sizes.

The canyon boasts numerous waterfalls, with over a hundred in total, including three major ones. The largest is the 58-meter-high Longjing River Waterfall. Looking up the river from a distance, you can see the waterfall thundering down. Legend has it that the Seven Fairies, descending to the mortal realm, were moved to tears upon seeing the river come to an abrupt halt here. In their sorrow, they plucked a strand of their hair and hung it between the two mountains, giving birth to the Longjing River Waterfall. Below the falls lies a deep pool where the water rushes ceaselessly and remains unfrozen year-round. The pool is serene and profound, with rainbows often arching over it, creating a truly breathtaking sight. The Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate Waterfall is the most distinctive among them all — powerful and awe-inspiring. The mountain stream bursts forth between two peaks, surging forward like a galloping horse, roaring like a mighty bell, spraying mist and clouds, swirling and cascading as if in a dreamlike trance.

Peculiar rock formations such as the Duigushan Stone Pillar, Blade-Back Roadblock, and Golden Rooster’s Lament resemble spirits of the valley, contributing to the charming scenery of Duigushan’s Longjing River. The 300-meter-tall stone pillar stands elegantly, exuding captivating beauty; the Blade-Back and Golden Rooster face each other, lifelike in appearance. Accompanied by many ethereal myths and legends, these features further enrich the beauty of the Longjing River. "A scene needs not be deep — beauty is what brings it to life." Spring mountains awaken like dreams, painted with shy, subtle strokes; summer mountains are lush and encircled in green, dripping with cool vitality; autumn mountains blush red across thousands of ridges, intoxicated in color; winter mountains are adorned with jade trees and silver flowers, extraordinarily enchanting. "Such scenery surely belongs in heaven — how few such places can one find on earth?" This is the true portrayal of Longjing River.

Duigushan is not only blessed with beautiful mountains and waters, but also revered for its profound revolutionary history. Back in the day, the Liu-Deng Army made their historic thousand-mile march into the Dabie Mountains, leaving a legacy that will last for millennia. During the Liberation War, the Lion-Shaped Old House in Duigushan served as the wartime command post of the Eastern Line for the Huoshan County Committee and Government. Today, this heroic land has been transformed into a place with neat fields, interconnected roads, and crisscrossing irrigation channels. The rich and beautiful Duigushan welcomes visitors from all directions with its stunning landscapes and simple, heartfelt local charm.

Longjing River Grand Canyon mainly consists of Duigushan Mountain and a collection of waterfalls. Entering the canyon directly from Duigushan Village in Motan Town, you’ll encounter undulating mountains, jagged peaks, and a murmuring stream meandering downhill. Hidden stones and winding underground currents twist and turn, while uniquely shaped rocks lie quietly in various forms. Verdant mountains line both sides of the canyon, with steep cliffs so towering that even a soaring swan cannot pass and a climbing monkey would struggle to ascend. The entire canyon is renowned for its high mountains, beautiful waters, strange rocks, and unique waterfalls.

High Mountains: Longjing River is situated at the neck of Baimajian, the main peak of the Dabie Mountains, over 1,000 meters above sea level, making it the highest river in the Dabie Mountain region.

Beautiful Waters: The area within 10 kilometers of Longjing River is uninhabited, with dense forests at its source — a pristine land untouched by humans, completely free of pollution, and blessed with clear mountains and waters all year round.

Strange Rocks: The cliffs along both sides of Longjing River Grand Canyon are lined with bizarre rocks. Some resemble birds and beasts, some look like immortals meditating, others lie quietly beneath the water, some stand alone holding up the sky, some grow out from the forest, and some jut diagonally from mountaintops. There are endless sights to behold, too many to count, and impossible to fully describe.

Unique Waterfalls: Three major waterfalls have been identified in the canyon, along with nearly a hundred medium and small ones. The three major ones are: Longjing River Waterfall, 58 meters high and 3 meters wide, with a deep and unfathomable pool called Longjing Pool beneath it, covering about 100 square meters; Gancha River Waterfall, approximately 65 meters high; and Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate Waterfall, over 60 meters high. Longjing River also features attractions such as the Duigushan Stone Pillar, Turtle Rock Exploring the Path, and Golden Rooster Spreading Its Wings.

The "Carp Leaping Over the Dragon Gate" Waterfall is the most spectacular. From March to September, it has the greatest water flow. Standing within 30 meters of the waterfall, one is drenched by a fine mist that covers eyebrows and hair, making it difficult to remain standing. When local authorities surveyed the area for its hydroelectric potential, the tourism value of Longjing River was discovered. The canyon is named after the Longjing Waterfall, and it also features beautiful sites like Dry Longjing, Caijiadong, and Chahua Pool. This long-untapped tourist gem has now begun to unveil its mysterious veil, showcasing its stunning beauty to the world.

The downstream Duigushan Village not only boasts beautiful mountains and waters, but also holds a revolutionary history highly esteemed by many.
