Huoshan County Martyrs' Cemetery is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

Huoshan Martyrs' Cemetery is situated in the southwestern part of Huoshan County. Huoshan is a renowned revolutionary base area, the starting point of the Lu-Huo Uprising, the heart of the Western Anhui Revolutionary Base, and a key component of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui Revolutionary Base. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, it set four historic firsts in Anhui’s revolutionary struggle. In the Anti-Japanese War, the New Fourth Army’s 4th Detachment was formed in Huoshan, and the Lutushipu Battle fought there eliminated over 1,370 Japanese troops. During the Liberation War, our forces achieved two victories in the battles of Qingfeng Ridge and Mozitan during the Central Plains Breakout, successfully accomplishing the strategic mission of a thousand-mile escape. Throughout the years of revolutionary warfare, a total of 60,000 brave sons and daughters of Huoshan sacrificed their lives for the country, accounting for one quarter of the county's population at the time. To commemorate the martyrs and educate future generations, the cemetery was first built in 1986, covering an area of 180,000 square meters. It features an entrance artificial waterfall, a Revolutionary History Memorial Wall, Historical Monument Pillars, a Dabie Mountain Revolutionary Heroes Group Sculpture, a Dabie Mountain Revolutionary History Relief Wall, a sculpture of Martyr Shu Chuanxian, the Martyrs’ Cemetery, a Red Monument Corridor, the Liuhuo Uprising Memorial Pavilion, the Chuanxian Pavilion, and the PiXi Pavilion. The cemetery is recognized as a National Classic Red Tourism Destination, a Provincial-Level Martyrs’ Memorial Facilities Protection Unit in Anhui Province, and a Provincial Patriotic Education Base in Anhui.
