Garden Grotto

The Garden Grotto is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level by Xuancheng City.

The Garden Grotto is located in Meilin Town, Ningguo City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty, and is classified as a grotto temple and rock carving.

In 2016, the Garden Grotto was designated as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural heritage protection units by the Xuancheng Municipal People’s Government.

Meilin Town: Situated in the southeastern part of Ningguo City and adjacent to the border between Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, Meilin Town is traversed by National Highway S104 and the Dongjin River. It is only 10 kilometers from the city center, offering very convenient transportation. The town covers a total area of 185.5 square kilometers, governs 8 administrative villages, 1 neighborhood committee, and 195 villager groups, with a population of 24,000. Under the correct leadership of the Party committee and government, and guided by the important thoughts of “-”, the town has been committed to reform and innovation. Its overall strength ranks among the top in the city, and in 2001 it was approved by the provincial government as a standardized town.
