Tuzi Mountain
Tuzi Mountain is located about two kilometers north of the city center and is also known as Phoenix Mountain due to its resemblance to a phoenix in shape. Legend has it that during the Three Kingdoms period, after a defeat, the Wu general Lu Su sent his son here to become a monk, hence the name Tuzi Mountain. There is a temple on the mountain, also named Tuzi Temple. Tuzi Temple was first built during the Xiantong era of Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty (860–874 AD) and is a renowned Buddhist Zen monastery in northern Anhui. The Morning Bell of Tuzi is one of the Old Eight Scenic Spots of Tongcheng. Today, the mountain still features structures such as Tuzi Chan Temple, Debai Hermitage, Zhaozhou Bridge, Official Reception Pavilion, and the Bell Tower.
