Site of the Lu King’s Mound

The Site of the Lu King’s Mound is situated in Luting Village, Luting Town, with the Luwang River to the south and Anhe Road to the east. It is a platform mound site. The site has an approximately circular layout, standing 3 to 8 meters above the surrounding area, with a relatively thick accumulation of cultural layers. Artifacts collected at the site include stone axes, stone adzes, tripod leg fragments, li tripod leg fragments, rim pieces, and gu vessel neck fragments. The decorative patterns include incised lines, string patterns, fingernail impressions, cord marks, and additional stacked patterns. Based on the condition of the cultural layer accumulation and the collected artifacts, the site is dated from the Neolithic Age to the Shang and Zhou dynasties. The Site of the Lu King’s Mound is a key cultural heritage protection unit of Tongcheng City.

Luting Village: Located between the Luwang River and the Shuanglong River, Luting Village spans across the Hefei-Anqing Highway and the Hefei-Jiujiang Railway. It was formed by merging the former Luting and Luhong villages. The village consists of 39 villager groups, with over 1,420 households and a population of more than 6,800. The total area covers over 5,900 mu, including more than 3,400 mu of arable land, over 1,600 mu of forested land, 395 mu of aquatic farming areas, and 415 mu of residential construction land.
