Bronze Culture Square

Centered around "Bronze Culture" and themed with "Mountain-Forest Culture" and "Water Culture," Bronze Culture Square is an ecological plaza that fully embodies the city image of Tongling and showcases distinctive bronze cultural characteristics. The Bronze Culture Garden is divided into four functional zones: the central municipal zone, the southern cultural and entertainment activity zone, the northern leisure zone, and the western lakeside green leisure belt. Its scenic elements consist of main attractions, secondary features, and supporting scenes.

Located right in front of the municipal administrative center, Bronze Culture Square covers an area of 110,000 square meters. Due to its large size, to enhance the sense of enclosure, designers retained the hilly land in the northern and southeastern corners and planted tall trees between the different functional areas to create an encompassing effect, giving visitors the feeling of exploring a secluded forest. At the same time, lighting integrates various new types of lamps including courtyard lights, lawn lights, floodlights, and decorative lights. Centered around the main landscape, this creates distinctive night scenes: the main square is bright, the cultural activity square is lively, the mountain-forest square is elegant, and the water forest and water square are mysterious and hazy—each offering unique visual effects. This makes the entire Bronze Culture Garden's night scenery rich, colorful, and ever-changing, complementing the night view of Tianjing Lake.

At the center of the municipal square stands a giant bronze sculpture titled "Soul of Bronze," which serves as the main attraction of the square. "Soul of Bronze" uses abstract and dynamic forms to vividly express the "Spirit of the Copper Capital." Surrounding the sculpture is a circle of dry fountains. Along the main axis, a podium is set up. The square highlights the theme of "Bronze Culture," with its pavement and small facilities featuring many bronze-pattern designs, and bronze sculptures are placed on both sides of the podium.

In the center of the southern cultural activity square stands a playful circular building called the "Cultural Activity Center," which includes a tea room and serves as a secondary attraction of the Bronze Culture Garden. The water square is shaped like a baiji dolphin, with an adjustable water depth at the pool bottom—raised to a higher level in summer for children to play and lowered in winter to expose the first-tier pebble pool bottom, which can be used as a fitness path. The water features include a music laser fountain. The water forest consists of multiple pools with variously designed fountains and cascading waterfalls. The water square and water forest highlight the theme of "Water Culture." Eight stone pillars in the center of the square symbolize Tongling’s “Eight Treasures.” The buildings and small facilities in this area mostly use modern materials such as steel and glass, exuding a strong contemporary feel.

The northern mountain-forest square consists of a mural wall, small exhibition halls, and the "High Mountains and Flowing Water" scenic spot. The small exhibition halls can host displays on Tongling’s history, culture, and science, with a colorful and uniquely shaped tensile membrane roof that is highly decorative, serving as another secondary attraction of the square.

Along the western side of Binhu Road, the Bronze Culture Garden has set up a green leisure belt. At the end of the main axis by Tianjing Lake, there is a waterside platform, and within Tianjing Lake, there is a hundred-meter music fountain and a water screen movie, making it an ideal spot for enjoying the lake and mountain scenery.
