Tongling Xinqiao High-Tech Agricultural Demonstration Park is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Xinqiao High-Tech Agricultural Demonstration Park currently covers a construction area of 3,700 mu, including a core area of 1,200 mu and a demonstration area of 2,500 mu.

During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the park comprehensively developed modern agricultural bases, implemented 50 agricultural projects at the national, provincial, municipal, and county levels, introduced over 600 new and superior varieties, and applied more than 100 new technologies and over 50 new materials, achieving coordinated development in economic, social, ecological benefits, and technological demonstration. The core area achieved a cumulative output value of over 25 million yuan, with just 2005 alone generating over 8.5 million yuan. The park was rated as a provincial-level agricultural demonstration park twice, in 2001 and 2004. The entire park initially explored and established a mechanism for agricultural park construction guided by the concept of an industrial park.

To further develop and expand, the park has formulated an Eleventh Five-Year Plan in accordance with relevant requirements. By 2010, the core area of the park will be developed into a Tongling agricultural technology application and innovation base and a national-level agricultural tourism destination. It aims to implement 50 agricultural projects at the national, provincial, municipal, and county levels, ensure all base products are pollution-free, and reach an ecological environment standard of AA level or above. The plan also includes establishing and improving the park’s scientific research and extension service systems, setting up six large-scale demonstration bases, achieving a 70% technological contribution rate, increasing the park’s social production output value by 35%, reaching comprehensive benefits on par with national-level agricultural demonstration parks, and ensuring its place among the top agricultural parks in the province.

The Tongling area has a warm and humid climate, with rainy springs and summers, hot midsummers, dry autumns, and mild winters. The four seasons are distinct, though spring and autumn are relatively short, classifying it as a subtropical humid monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 16.2°C. The best time to visit is in winter.
