Acacia Trees

Acacia Trees The Acacia Trees are located in Fenghuang Village, Xinqiao Town. Originally named water birch trees, they have a history of 300 years. These are two trees of the same species, each standing on one side of a small river, with the stream flowing between them. When the trunks of the two trees grew to three meters tall, their upper parts leaned toward each other over the river and merged into one, before later separating again and continuing to grow independently. The trees are approximately 20 meters tall in total, with a combined crown spread of about 20 meters, and each trunk has a girth of 3.8 meters. Their dense foliage forms a green canopy that arches over the small river. From a distance, the two separate trees connected by intertwined branches resemble lovers embracing, radiating deep affection. Up close, their reflections in the water look like mandarin ducks playing or phoenixes flying through blossoms, evoking images of enduring love—hence the name "Acacia Trees." In 1989, the county government and the provincial TV station used the Fenghuang Mountain Acacia Trees as inspiration to produce the TV documentary "The Legend of the Acacia Trees."
