The former site of the first Communist Party branch in Yalan Village is located in Yalan Village, Chongxian Subdistrict. Dating from the modern era, it is categorized as an important historical site and representative building from the modern and contemporary periods.

In 2009, the former site of the first Communist Party branch in Yalan Village was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site under protection by Hangzhou City.

Protected area: to the east, up to the exterior wall of the added structure; to the south, west, and north, extending approximately 5 meters beyond the heritage structure itself, with a total area of 512 square meters.

Construction control zone: extending approximately 17–35 meters beyond the protected area, covering a total area of 5,256 square meters.

Yalan Village: Located on the banks of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Yalan Village in Chongxian Town features a dense network of waterways and a distinctive water town character. It is widely known as a veteran revolutionary base and a hometown of embroidery. The village administers an area of 3.6 square kilometers, including 27 villager groups, 15 natural villages, 955 households, and a total population of 3,960 people, with 130 party members. It was formed in September 2003 through the merger of the former Pingjing Village and Yalan Village.
