Huaniao Greenhua Scenic Area
The Huaniao Greenhua Scenic Area encompasses Hua’niao Island, Dongxi Greenhua Islands, and numerous surrounding islets and reefs. It is most renowned for the Far East's No. 1 lighthouse — the Huaniao Lighthouse — and the Misty Island (Hua’niao Island).
Hua’niao Mountain Island features towering peaks, verdant woodlands, abundant flowers, fragrant daffodils, and a gentle spring mist. On the island, caves such as the Cloud Mist Cave, Monkey Cave, Heart-Piercing Cave, Pig-Tying Cave, and Mi Pit Cave are partially hidden in the fog, giving them a mysterious allure.
There are also various uniquely shaped rocks. Viewed from one angle they resemble a crouching dragon, from another a flying fish. Among them, the “Peng Rock” is the most peculiar. It looks like a billowing sail that never fills with wind, standing amidst turbulent waves without advancing, caught between motion and stillness — a scene full of poetic charm.
In addition, the scenic area includes attractions such as “Colorful Flags and Galloping Elephants,” “Golden Sands of Nanwan Bay,” “Anchorages for Foreign Ships,” and “Greenhua Sea Cliffs.” These spots offer pleasant scenery and are well worth visiting.
