Huanglong Island
Huanglong Island, covering an area of 5.2 square kilometers, is one of the earliest inhabited islands in the Shengsi Archipelago.
The island features abundant cultural and natural landscapes, with the Yuanbao Stone being the most renowned.
The surrounding waters of Huanglong Island are expansive, rich in fish resources. The processed dried shrimp are especially famous for their large size, bright red hue, clean meat, and delightful flavor. Their curved hook-like shape has earned them the name "Golden Hook Dried Shrimp," making them highly favored by visitors from all walks of life. As a result, Huanglong Island is also known as the "Hometown of Dried Shrimp."
Throughout history, literati, poets, heroes, and notable figures who visited the island often left behind inscriptions and calligraphy, resulting in numerous cliff engravings. At the cliff top of Da'ao Mountain on Huanglong Island, the four large characters “瀚海风情” (“Vast Sea Charm”) are engraved. According to records, these were inscribed by General Liu Bingwen, who was in charge of the Ningbo-Shaoxing region during the Ming Dynasty’s Wanli era, and General Chen Mengdou, the guerrilla commander of Ningjia, when they patrolled the sea and arrived here.
Opposite Huanglong Island lies Wulong Township at the eastern end of Sijiao Island. The seafood there, including fish and shrimp, is also exceptionally fresh, and visitors can enjoy some of the freshest seafood delicacies.
