Shengshan Fishing Port is a national first-class public fishing harbor, renowned across China as the “Fish Treasury of the East China Sea” for its abundant marine produce.

During the peak fishing seasons, tens of thousands of fishing boats and hundreds of thousands of fishermen from over a dozen coastal provinces and cities flock to Shengshan. At this time, the harbor is filled with masts standing like a forest and boat flags covering the sky, as vessels from the south and north compete in splendor. There are the colorful offshore fishing boats, the white-hulled boats with white masts and white ducks, the sharply pointed small pair-boats, the high-decked ice-fresh boats, the Longquan-painted and phoenix-carved Wenling boats, and the large-catch boats with gleaming eyes... Mountains of fish and seas of shrimp pile up like silver and gold. The sounds of waves, machinery, and shouts create a ceaseless clamor. Here, it becomes a world of boats and an ocean of fish.

At night, lights shine brightly both onshore and aboard, with fishing lanterns floating on the water, glowing in red, orange, yellow, and green—colors that sparkle brilliantly alongside the starry sky and the Milky Way. It’s truly as if “countless fishing boats gather in one harbor, their lanterns dotting the currents, as the stars of heaven descend at midnight, illuminating every coral isle on the sea.” The fishing harbor is illuminated like a crystal dragon palace, enchanting all who see it.
