Jihu Beach is located in the Sijiao Scenic Area. The beach stretches over 2,000 meters from east to west and is 250 meters wide. Gently sloping into the sea, the firm sandy shore features clean, golden grains, resembling a golden comb that has fallen from the heavens. The gently lapping waves resemble the flowing tresses of the Goddess of the East China Sea, intertwining with the golden comb. The scenery changes with the seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter each offer a unique view. In spring, the sea is shrouded in mist so light and delicate it resembles cicada wings, creating an ethereal, fairy-tale-like atmosphere and making it one of the island’s most spectacular natural sights. In summer, the seawater is clear and emerald green, perfect for a variety of water sports such as beach volleyball and marine competitions. In autumn, with the refreshing sea breeze and the rising sun, watching the sunrise on the beach is a truly magical experience. On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival (15th August in the lunar calendar), the moon rises in the sky over Jihu while the setting sun still hangs in the west, creating the rare spectacle of the sun and moon sharing the sky, known as the “Jihu Moonlight.” In winter, when the northwest wind blows, towering waves crash against the shore at Jihu Beach, their thunderous roar and cascading force creating a breathtaking scene ideal for listening to and watching the tide.
