East Sea Fishing Village

East Sea Fishing Village is one of the earliest places in China where the unique "fishing village tourism" (渔家乐) concept emerged, and it is also the only provincial-level recreational fishery demonstration base in the county. It is adjacent to Jihu Beach.

The village is home to the Lingyin Temple on Dabeishan, one of the four major Buddhist temples and three great Guanyin sacred sites in China, the Jianzhen Eastward Crossing Site where nature and culture blend, the Lingshu Xi Hai attraction that showcases rich maritime charm, as well as large-scale open-air murals depicting the fishing village and island culture. On hot summer days, with cool breezes blowing, you can sail across the vast blue sea, casting nets full of hope; explore reefs to collect seashells, rediscovering lost childhood joys; go fishing in the deep blue for a happy experience; try your hand at beach fishing and live out the life of a fisherman; venture into Mouse Mountain for an exciting adventure. Get up close with the azure sea. Hear temple bells and watch the sunrise, sail to catch fish and shrimp, pick shellfish on reefs, explore and test legends, feast on fresh seafood, and spend the night in a fisherman’s home. This “be a fisherman for a day, live a fishing life for a day” fishing tourism program attracts countless urban tourists to brave the waves, enjoy the sea, and savor life.
