Mouse Mountain Island

Mouse Mountain Island is located in the Huibei Ocean area to the northwest of Zhoushan Main Island in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. It lies about 12 kilometers north of Dayushan Island and 9.7 kilometers southeast of Mamushan Island, and falls under the jurisdiction of Dinghai District, Zhoushan City.

As one of the Wuzhi Mountain Islands, it is an uninhabited small island surrounded by abundant shellfish, algae, fish, and shrimp. The island is home to a variety of birds, including ring-necked plovers, grey herons, spotted-billed ducks, light-vented bulbuls, and yellow-bellied warblers.

Behind Dabeishan on Zhujiajian Main Island lies a small island called “Mouse Mountain.” Although not large—stretching just over 1,000 meters in length and covering an area of only 0.3 square kilometers—the island features rugged and uniquely shaped rocks. Highlights include formations known as “Immortal’s Table,” “Guanyin’s Leap,” and “Grand Screen Wall.” There is also a cave on the mountain called “Rat-Dashing Cave,” which runs from the mountain’s base straight to its peak, twisting and turning along the way. Entering the cave feels like stepping into a fairyland, brimming with wonder and charm. From the summit of Mouse Mountain, one can gaze out at the sparkling blue sea and vast waters, offering a uniquely serene view. Watching the sunrise from atop Mouse Reef is particularly spectacular—the golden rays emerging from the sea create shimmering waves that make for an unforgettable sight.
