Majishan Port is named after Majishan Island, where it is located. The port is just over a ten-minute drive from the county town. It is 73 nautical miles from Zhoushan Main Island, 30.8 nautical miles from Luchaogang in Nanhui, Shanghai, and only 59.2 nautical miles from Wusongkou. Originally, Majishan was a small isolated island, located about one kilometer from Sijiao Main Island, but later, due to the construction of this harbor, a bridge was built between Majishan and Sijiao Main Island. Chengmen Yantou on Majishan Island features a strikingly prominent peak that juts out toward the sea. To its south is a steep cliff over 30 meters high, with hidden reefs scattered at its base. Not far from the cliff is a natural arch-shaped stone cave, 30 meters long from east to west and over 10 meters high, which looks like an exquisitely crafted grand gate with crenellations and watchtowers — remarkably vivid. This adds a unique charm to the otherwise steel-dominated harbor.
