Shengsi County Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural heritage site protected by Shengsi County and also serves as a patriotic education base.

Shengsi County Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is situated in the beautiful Shengsi Archipelago, a national key scenic area. Among the expansive blue seas and numerous islands, atop the summit of Gongshan on the largest island, Sijiao, stands a grand and prominent Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument. The cemetery spans 1,500 square meters, with a built-up area of 2,423 square meters and roadways covering 1,600 square meters. It was constructed starting in April 1995, completed in April 1996, and the unveiling ceremony was held on July 7 of the same year to commemorate the 46th anniversary of Shengsi's liberation. After May 2000, the originally scattered martyr cemeteries from Qingsha and Huanglong were gradually relocated to this cemetery. The cemetery features a magnificent design, nestled against the mountain and surrounded by forests, with the Revolutionary Martyrs' Monument standing proudly at the summit. At the front of the monument is a solemn arched gateway facing south, offering breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. Here, visitors can gaze upon golden sands and azure waters, admire the wondrous mountain and sea scenery, count the twinkling fishing lights, listen to the rustling forest sounds, guard the kilometer-long beach, and witness the sunrise over the ocean.

The monument square covers a total area of 590 square meters and can accommodate up to 300 people for memorial activities. The base of the monument is constructed from polished red granite, measuring 10 meters in length, 7 meters in width, and 3.5 meters in height. The main body of the monument is 25 meters tall, shaped like a tower, and built with reinforced concrete. The top of the monument is adorned with a stainless steel sphere with a diameter of 1.8 meters. The front of the base is inscribed with eight large Chinese characters “革命烈士永垂不朽” (“Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs”) written by Xue Ju, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. On both sides are listed the names of 98 martyrs, and eight stone pillars stand around the structure. The overall shape of the monument resembles a sailing ship. To the right of the monument lies the Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery, where 122 martyrs rest in peace. These include People's Liberation Army officers, soldiers, and revolutionary civilians who sacrificed their lives during the liberation of Shengsi Archipelago, naval anti-bandit operations, and while safeguarding and developing the islands after liberation.

The main structures of the cemetery include the Martyrs’ Monument, the Martyrs’ Cemetery, the Martyrs’ Deeds Exhibition Hall, and the cemetery’s memorial archway. The cemetery exudes solemnity and reverence, surrounded by lush pines, upright cypresses, and clusters of camphor trees. Looking into the distance, one can see dotted sailboats and the harmonious blend of sea and sky, offering stunning scenery. It serves as a comprehensive site integrating commemoration, mourning, tourism, sightseeing, and landscaping. It is the largest martyrs’ cemetery and memorial venue in the county. In September 1997, it was designated as a municipal-level patriotic education base and is one of the county’s key cultural heritage protection sites.
