Baijie Mountain Lighthouse

Baijie Mountain Lighthouse is a cultural relic protection unit of Zhejiang Province.

The Baijie Mountain Lighthouse is located in Caiyuan Town, Shengsi County, dating back to 1883.

It is situated on Baijie Mountain within Shengsi County, Zhoushan City. The lighthouse was originally built in 1883, with the current structure reconstructed in 1946.

Light characteristic: group flashing red and white light every 60 seconds

Range: 22 nautical miles

Cast iron conical tower, internal steel spiral staircase, base diameter of 3.7 meters, lantern diameter of 2.7 meters, with alternating red and white horizontal stripes painted on the tower body. The Baijie Mountain Lighthouse primarily serves vessels navigating the Baijie Channel, which has a water depth of 18–40 meters and is one of the main routes from Shanghai and Majishan Port to southern China and Southeast Asian countries.

On January 7, 2011, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of cultural relic protection units of Zhejiang Province.

Caiyuan Town: Located in the central-western part of Sijiao Island in Shengsi County, Caiyuan Town is the seat of the Shengsi County Committee and the People’s Government of Shengsi County. It serves as the county's political, economic, transportation, and cultural center. The town borders Wulong Township to the east, reaches Majishan Port—the renowned ore transshipment hub—to the south, neighbors the famous Jihu Beach to the northeast, and lies adjacent to Nanchangtu Beach to the southeast. The total land area of the town is 28.18 square kilometers.
