Dongtou Pioneer Women's Militia Company Exhibition Hall

The Dongtou Pioneer Women's Militia Company Exhibition Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Dongtou County.

The Dongtou Pioneer Women's Militia Company Exhibition Hall is located in Tongqiao Village, Beiao Town, Dongtou County, and was built in 1978. It covers a construction area of 300 square meters, with six bays in width and double-leaf doors on the side bays. In front of the site stands a sculpture symbolizing the close bond between the military and civilians, while the entrance gate bears an inscription of 13 Chinese characters reading “Dongtou County Pioneer Women’s Militia Company Memorial Hall.” In 2000, a two-story concrete-frame exhibition room in a “protruding” shape was constructed on the left side of the hall, covering a construction area of 1,500 square meters. The hall displays 385 historical items, including objects, pictures, and photographs that depict the struggle and growth of the Pioneer Women’s Militia Company. Since its establishment in 1960, the Dongtou Pioneer Women's Militia Company has achieved remarkable results in military defense, coastal defense preparedness, disaster rescue and relief, and maintaining social order. In December 1964, it was awarded a Collective Second-Class Merit by the Ministry of National Defense; in December 1965, it received a Collective First-Class Merit from the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military District; and in May 1992, it was honored as an Advanced Unit in Grassroots Work of Militia and Reserve Forces by the General Staff Department and the General Political Department.
