Gaoyou North Gate City Wall Ruins Park

North Gate Barbican Site

This site was included as an extension project and added to the fifth batch of Jiangsu Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units, “Gaoyou City Wall and Kuilou” (North Gate Barbican Site). The Gaoyou North Gate City Wall Ruins Park is located at the southern end of Beimen Street in our city. It features architecture from the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties and is an important testament to the history of Gaoyou’s establishment as a city.

In 2017, after completing comprehensive archaeological excavations, our city built the North Gate Barbican Site Park, which has since been opened to the public. It has now become one of the city’s key cultural attractions.
