Gaoyou City Museum

Gaoyou City Museum is a public comprehensive museum with local characteristics. It is located to the east of the City Business Building and completed its exhibition layout in 2017, opening to the public free of charge. The main exhibition hall is divided into two sections: "Gaoyou General History Exhibition" and "Folk Customs of the Li-Xia River Region."

The "Gaoyou General History Exhibition" displays exquisite cultural relics unearthed from various periods starting from the Neolithic Age, including those from the Longqiu Village Site, Tangwangdun Site, Zhoubeidun Site, Tianshan Han Tomb, Shaojiagou Site, Dadun Han Tomb Cluster, Qilong Tomb Cluster, the Grand Canal, Sanduo Market Site, and Taoh River Site. By integrating modern facilities such as sound, light, and electricity, it comprehensively showcases the cultural evolution of the Gaoyou region. The "Folk Customs of the Li-Xia River Region" section recreates the customs and daily life of Gaoyou from the 1930s to the 1940s through the depiction of two ancient streets, an urban-rural junction, and scenes such as street shops, street activities, waterside plazas, and water-based labor.

In addition, the museum has set up an interactive experience area to enrich visitors’ exhibition experience.
