The former site of the Embassy of France in the Republic of China is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiangsu Province.

The former site of the Embassy of France in the Republic of China is located at No. 56-1, Gaoyunling, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province.

It was originally built as a consulate building and later upgraded to an embassy. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the embassy was forced to close. In January 1946, the French government appointed Mérignac as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and he took office at the embassy on Gaoyunling on the 17th. The current site of the former French embassy is in rather poor condition, as the first-floor structure has been heavily altered, and both the first floor and the courtyard have been covered by later-added concrete buildings, making it almost impossible to discern the original appearance of the embassy. Outside the site, there is a cultural heritage protection marker.
