The Former Site of the Nationalist Government is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Nationalist Government is located in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. It includes the former sites of the Executive Yuan, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Communications, -, the Presidential Residence, - Central Party History Archives Exhibition Hall, Central Supervisory Committee, Provisional Government Senate, Supreme Court, and other historical buildings. These structures represent the essence of modern architecture.

The former Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Nationalist Government, located on Zhongshan North Road in Nanjing, was designed by the renowned Huagai Architecture Firm at the time. It features a modern flat roof with a steel-concrete structure and is adorned externally with traditional Chinese architectural decorations. It is one of the earlier examples in modern Chinese architectural history that explored the “new national form.” The - Central Party History Archives Exhibition Hall, situated on Zhongshan East Road, was designed by the master architect Yang Tingbao. It boasts a traditional double-eaved hip-and-gable roof decorated with colorful powder relief paintings, giving the entire building a magnificent appearance. As historical witnesses, the “Former Sites of the Nationalist Government” record some important events in modern Chinese history.

The Provisional Government Senate, located on Hunan Road, was originally the Jiangsu Advisory Bureau during the Qing Dynasty. During the Xinhai Revolution, representatives from more than ten provinces that declared uprisings gathered here to discuss the organization of a provisional central government, elect Sun Yat-sen as the provisional president, and announce the change of the country’s name to the Republic of China. This site was also designated as the Senate of the Provisional Government of the Republic of China.
