Nanjing Yangtze River Scenic Area

The Nanjing Yangtze River Scenic Area is centered around the majestic and vast Yangtze River, with nearby and distant mountain ranges as its backdrop, showcasing the landscape of this ancient capital. It forms an integrated riverside scenic belt where river views, cityscapes, harbor scenes, historical sites, and natural landscapes blend harmoniously.

The water area of the Yangtze River Scenic Zone spans 88 kilometers along the northern bank, starting from Zhuma River in the upstream and extending to the border with Yizheng in the downstream. On the southern bank, it stretches 98 kilometers from Cihu Mouth in the upstream to Dadao River in the downstream. It flows through Jiangpu County, Jiangning County, - County, Dachang District, Qixia District, Yuhuatai District, Pukou District, and Xiaguan District, covering three counties and five districts.

The river here is 1,000 to 3,000 meters wide, with an average depth of 15 to 30 meters, reaching a maximum depth of 70 meters. The average water level is about 5 meters. There are more than 10 large and small midstream islands in the river, such as Bagua Island, Jiangxin Island, Xinji Island, and Xinglong Island. The Yangtze River Scenic Area mainly consists of mountain landscapes, sandbar landscapes, pastoral scenery, Yangtze River water scenes, harbor vistas, and urban landscapes.
