Jiangsu Broadcasting and Television Tower is located at No. 118 Shitoucheng. Completed in 1995, it is also known as the Zijin Tower. Standing 318.5 meters tall and covering an area of 40,000 square meters, it ranks as the fourth tallest in China and the tallest in Jiangsu. The six tallest TV towers in China are: Shanghai Oriental Pearl (468 meters), Tianjin Broadcasting and Television Tower (415 meters), Central Broadcasting and Television Tower (405 meters), Jiangsu Broadcasting and Television Tower (319 meters), and Liaoning Broadcasting and Television Tower (306 meters). Jiangsu Broadcasting and Television Tower is an ideal destination for high-altitude sightseeing, shopping, entertainment, dining, and leisure. It offers particularly spectacular views of the Yangtze River and the city’s architecture.

The entire structure consists of a base, main tower body, tower building (with 8 floors), and antenna mast. The base currently houses the Jiangsu Science Palace, a top-tier public science education center in China. The main tower body is made up of 6 box-shaped connecting beams and one ring beam, supporting three massive tower legs. Its elegant shape features several elevators running between the base and the tower building. The upper small and large tower buildings resemble flying saucers. The entrance hall, Science Palace, podium, square, lawns, and green belts at the base form a harmonious architectural complex. The renowned calligrapher Wu Zhongqi inscribed the words “Dominating as Jiangsu’s No. 1 Tower,” and the ground floor hosts the largest science palace in the province.

The television tower serves as the broadcasting and transmission center for Nanjing’s radio and television services, featuring cutting-edge technology and extensive outreach. It is also a new tourist attraction, with open observation decks, open-air corridors, a revolving restaurant, open-air platforms, and multifunctional halls at the base available to visitors. The site presents itself as an iconic structure that embodies advanced science and technology while offering rich cultural insights.

Transportation: In Nanjing, take bus 302 and get off at Shitoucheng North Station; or take buses 45, 47, 66, 72, 73, 170, or Tourist Line 4 and get off at Jiasheng Huayuan Station, then walk south along Shitoucheng Road to reach the site.
