Former Site of the Centennial Church and Its Dormitories

The former site of the Centennial Church and its dormitories is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Nanjing City.

The former site of the Centennial Church and its dormitories is located at No. 140 Hanzhong Road, Wutaishan Community, Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, within the campus of a medical university.

The Centennial Church building was donated by the Trinity Church in Seminole, South Carolina, USA, to commemorate the centennial of overseas missionary work by the Methodist Episcopal Church, hence the abbreviated name "Centennial Church." The building was constructed in the 10th year of the Republic of China (1921) and features a classical Western church architectural style. It faces east, has four stories, and is built with a brick-and-wood structure. The entrance leads directly to a second-floor porch. The design is smooth, spacious, and practical, with a total construction area of 1,691.42 square meters. Approximately 20 meters northeast of the Centennial Church is another three-story Western-style building with a similar architectural style and a total construction area of 1,283.65 square meters.

In the summer of 1956, the former Jiangsu Sixth Medical College, originally located in Zhenjiang, relocated to Nanjing and was established at No. 140 Hanzhong Road. In 1957, it was renamed Nanjing Medical College, and in 1993, it became Nanjing Medical University.

In 2006, the building complex was listed as a municipal-level cultural heritage conservation unit of Nanjing City.
