Former Site of the Canadian Embassy in the Republic of China

The former site of the Canadian Embassy in the Republic of China is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiangsu Province.

The former site of the Canadian Embassy is located at No. 3 Tianzhu Road, Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province.

The building was constructed before 1937 in a Western modern architectural style. It includes one three-story building with 15 rooms, three sections of modern-style single-story houses totaling 7 rooms, three sections of simple houses totaling 3 rooms, and three garage rooms. The walls and roof are blue. Originally, there were two air-raid shelters and one fish pond. The original property was registered under the name of Liang Yingwen’s wife, Zhao Maohua (an official at the China Textile Company). Before the liberation, the Canadian Embassy rented the property. After the liberation, it was placed under trusteeship, and the Canadian Embassy continued to rent it, while it was also used by the city committee and the municipal government's social liaison office. It is now owned by the Gulou District Real Estate Management Company and is used as residential housing.

On December 19, 2011, the People's Government of Jiangsu Province listed it as part of the seventh batch of provincial-level cultural heritage conservation units.
