Former Residence of Huang Renlin

The former residence of Huang Renlin is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.

The former residence of Huang Renlin is located at No. 15 Ninghai Road, Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. This building was constructed in 1936 (the 25th year of the Republic of China) by Huang Renlin, General Secretary of the Morale Service Corps, in the name of his wife, Huang Ganguoying. It was designed by architect Zhao Shen of the Shanghai-based Huagai Architecture Firm and built by Zhang Shixing of the Zhonghua Xingye Construction Company. It is an example of Western modern architecture. It was once used as the embassy of the Swiss government to the Republic of China. It is now a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit of Nanjing City.

Styled Shunlong, (1901.9–1983.5), he was from Laocun Village, Huangzhou Township, Anyi County. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, and the Graduate School of Columbia University in New York, and earned a doctoral degree from the University of Oklahoma City, USA. He once served as General Secretary of the Shanghai YMCA, the Whampoa Alumni Association, the Morale Service Corps, and the New Life Movement Promotion Committee. He also held positions such as Major General Director of the War Area Service Corps under the Nationalist Military Commission, Lieutenant General Deputy Commander and later Commander-in-Chief of the Joint Logistics Headquarters, Ambassador to Panama, Alternate Central Committee Member of the Kuomintang, and Central Evaluation Committee Member, among others. … More details about Huang Renlin ++
