Former Residence of Yuan Shouqian

The former residence of Yuan Shouqian is located at No. 13 Jiangsu Road, Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province.

The property was originally owned by Tang Shaohou and registered under the name of his wife, Tang Yangyi. In 1946, Yuan Shouqian, who was then the Secretary-General of the Special Party Department of the Kuomintang Central Committee, purchased the house for his own residence. As the building is part of the Yihe Road Twelve-Area Historic District, in 2008, the government funded its renovation and refurbishment. The building features a Western architectural style, with one three-story structure consisting of eight rooms.

Born in August 1904 in Changsha, Hunan Province. He graduated from the Infantry Department of the first class of the Whampoa Military Academy. He once served as company, battalion, and brigade commander of the National Revolutionary Army, Secretary-General and Deputy Director of the Political Training Department of the Military Commission, Secretary-General of the Special Party Department of the KMT Military Commission, and Director of the Political Department of the First War Zone.
