The Old Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The Old Yellow River Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in the urban area of Xuzhou City and was built based on the comprehensive improvement project of the urban section of the old course of the Yellow River.

The scenic area is classified as an urban river-lake water conservancy scenic area. It is primarily designed for urban flood control and incorporates the principles of water safety, water environment, water landscape, water culture, and water economy. It combines multiple benefits including urban scenic construction, agricultural irrigation, aquaculture, tourism development, vacationing, leisure, and dining entertainment. The scenic belt stretches 16.4 kilometers in length, covering a total area of 8.2 square kilometers, with a water area of 1.3 square kilometers. The area features neatly arranged pavilions, corridors, terraces, and pavilions, alongside a dense array of modern buildings. Strolling along the river, visitors can enjoy rippling blue waters, shady trees, blooming flowers, and lush green lawns, making it a vibrant green ecological corridor. When night falls and the lights come on, tens of thousands of colorful lights along the Old Yellow River illuminate simultaneously, creating a dazzling and splendid scene. The scenic area is rich in cultural relics and historic sites, with particularly profound deposits of Han Dynasty culture. Facilities within the scenic area are complete, including hotels, guesthouses, docks, teahouses, water-friendly platforms, and leisure squares.
