The Xuyi History and Culture Museum is located on the first floor of Xuyi’s Duliu Pavilion, blending seamlessly with the pavilion’s classical elegance. It is a landmark project that presents Xuyi’s long history and vibrant culture. The museum is divided into eight sections: Tracing Origins & Prehistoric Civilization, Imperial Hometown & Ancient County, Scenic Landmarks & Strategic Hub, Eminent Figures & Cultural Flourishing, Qin Bricks & Han Tiles, Tang Pottery & Ming Ceramics, Historic Sites & Scenic Wonders, Duliu Monuments & Enduring Spirit, and Continuing Legacy & Modern Brilliance. These sections condense 50,000 years of Xuyi’s civilization—from primitive society to the present—while emphasizing over 2,200 years of development since the county was established in the Qin Dynasty.

The design of the Xuyi History and Culture Museum follows the chronological development of the city’s history. It showcases key events, highlights, and representative cultural elements through artifact displays, scene reconstructions, sand tables, portrait features, infographics, and sculptures. Modern technology further highlights Xuyi’s profound heritage and diverse culture, allowing visitors to explore its rich past, admire its splendid culture, and envision its bright future.

Designed by Southeast University, Duliu Pavilion features a classic southern Ming-Qing architectural style. Covering an area of approximately 3,300 square meters with a five-story frame structure, the pavilion stands 46.9 meters tall—a symbolic height representing wishes for success, smoothness, and longevity. The 108 steps correspond to the 108-meter elevation of nearby Yangdashan Mountain.

The completion of Duliu Pavilion & Xuyi History and Culture Museum fully demonstrates Xuyi’s profound historical and cultural depth, making it a new highlight for tourism in the region.
