Shanghai Shengwu Middle School is a patriotic education base.

Shengwu Middle School was a revolutionary base school established and led by the underground Communist Party organization in Shanghai in 1945. It is a Shanghai Youth Education Base and a Changning District Patriotic Education Base. The renowned educator Chen Heqin once served as the principal and formulated the school motto "Serve and Create." Inside the school, there is a large relief sculpture titled "The Light of Shengwu," inscribed by Comrade Qian Qichen, and an exhibition hall of the education base. The exhibition hall was renovated and reopened in August 2010, covering a total area of 211 square meters. It houses 272 revolutionary relics and 568 historical photos collected since the founding of Shengwu Middle School. The exhibition is divided into six major sections, highlighting the school's founding background, its involvement in multiple significant events before liberation, students' participation in building and defending New China after liberation, as well as the heroic deeds of three Shengwu students who sacrificed their lives for the Party, the people, and the country during the Liberation of Shanghai, the Korean War, and the period of socialist construction. The school offers free admission to the public and provides venues free of charge for various ceremonial activities organized for youth.
