Former site of the Cold-Rolled Strip Mill Workshop of the 10th Shanghai Steel Plant

Located at No. 570 West Huaihai Road and built in 1956, it was originally part of the workshop complex of the 10th Shanghai Steel Plant’s cold-rolled strip mill. The Shanghai Urban Sculpture Art Center within the Red Town Art Community serves as a successful case of converting abandoned industrial structures into public art hubs, following international models. The area has become Shanghai’s largest demonstration zone and cluster for international art, culture, and creative industries, gradually establishing itself as a distinctive new landmark in Changning.

The former site of the Cold-Rolled Strip Mill Workshop of the 10th Shanghai Steel Plant has been included in the eighth batch of protected cultural heritage sites of Shanghai.
