Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition Hall

Originally named the "Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition Room," the Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition Hall is located within the Soong Ching Ling Mausoleum. It officially opened on September 30, 1987, and was expanded and reopened on September 1, 2010. It is the largest exhibition venue in China dedicated to showcasing the life of Soong Ching Ling, covering her mausoleum, the Soong Ching Ling Life and Achievements Exhibition Room, and temporary exhibition halls. The Soong Ching Ling Mausoleum includes the Soong family cemetery, a statue of Soong Ching Ling, a memorial square, and the Soong Ching Ling Memorial Monument, among other commemorative facilities. The Soong family cemetery faces south and covers an area of approximately 263 square meters. Every year on Tomb-Sweeping Day, leaders of Shanghai’s Party and government, along with representatives from all walks of life, hold memorial ceremonies here.

The building has a construction area of 933 square meters and features a square layout. Inside, there are six exhibition halls and one video room. The basic exhibition in the Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition Room is the revised 1998 version titled "Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition." It follows a chronological narrative of Soong Ching Ling’s life and achievements, with special sections highlighting her major activities and outstanding contributions to the peace movement and children’s causes. The theme is clear and the focus is prominent. On the wall at the entrance of the exhibition room hangs a world map marked in blue, yellow, and pink to indicate the places Soong Ching Ling visited throughout her life for revolution and study: New York 1908, New Jersey 1908, Macon 1908, Paris 1939, Berlin 1929, Moscow 1927, Vienna 1952, Nagasaki 1915, Kobe 1915, Tokyo 1915, Shanghai 1927, Beijing 1924, Tianjin 1924, Wuhan 1927, Hong Kong 1938...

The exhibition halls primarily feature photographs and artifacts, accompanied by bilingual (Chinese and English) descriptions. They are organized into 13 thematic sections: Youthful Aspirations for Revolution; Close Comrade-in-Arms and Partner of Sun Yat-sen; Upholding Sun Yat-sen’s Three Major Policies; Protecting and Rescuing Revolutionaries and Patriots; Persisting in the War of Resistance Against Japan; Supporting the People’s Liberation War; One of the Founders of New China; A Close Comrade of the Party and Beloved Leader of the People; Pioneer in Safeguarding Peace and Envoy of the Chinese People; Loving Grandmother of Chinese Children; Learning and Daily Life; A Great Communist Fighter; and Nationwide and Global Mourning. These sections collectively showcase the life and accomplishments of Soong Ching Ling.

The video room screens the documentary "National Treasure," which contains many precious clips of significant moments in Soong Ching Ling’s life.

In September 2018, the Soong Ching Ling's Life and Achievements Exhibition Hall was officially recognized as a National Third-Class Museum by the Chinese Museums Association.
