Hulanhekou Wetland Park Scenic Area

Hulanhekou Wetland Park Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national water conservancy scenic area, and a national wetland park.

Hulanhekou Wetland is an important part of Harbin’s “Vast Songhua River Wetlands and Hundred-Mile Ecological Corridor.” It is the largest natural urban wetland in China and a key suburban wetland tourism destination developed by Harbin. To protect and make the most of this valuable resource, last year the Hulan District adopted a market-oriented approach to build the Hulanhekou Wetland Park to high standards. After two years of development and construction, the wetland park has reemerged with a brand-new look, showcasing the stunning beauty of the vast Songhua River wetlands.

As China’s largest urban wetland, Harbin’s Hulanhekou Wetland Park covers an area of 38.5 square kilometers. It serves as the core demonstration zone of the Vast Songhua River Wetlands and a landmark landscape belt of the Hundred-Mile Ecological Corridor. As a national 4A-level tourist attraction, it attracts a large number of domestic and international tourists every year.

The park is divided into several sections: the Natural Sightseeing Tourist Area, Happy Water World and Water Sports Center, Ice and Snow Park, Traditional Culture Park, and Land Amusement Park. It features attractions such as Sun-Moon Square, Star Island, Moon Beach, Midway Island, and Sun Beach. Happy Water World includes water slides, mushroom fountains, and water spray castles, offering both entertainment and the joy of aquatic fitness. The park also provides visitors with activities such as boat cruises, self-drive boats, cycling, fishing, natural beaches, and beach motorcycles, delivering the ultimate sightseeing experience.

Star Island

Located on the western side of the wetland, Star Island gets its name from its resemblance to a shining golden star nestled within the river mouth wetlands. The island integrates dining, entertainment, leisure, and ecological culture, forming the dining and relaxation hub of the Hulanhekou Wetland. It features a specialty barbecue plaza, a cultural performance plaza, and a collection of uniquely styled standalone villa restaurants. The dining area leverages the wetland’s abundant fish resources to offer a distinctive cuisine centered around fish, complemented by wild vegetables, game, and medicinal meals. Meanwhile, the elegant and upscale villa complex blends seamlessly with the wetland environment.

Moon Beach

A natural sandy beach with food and fun

Located at the center of the wetland park, Moon Beach covers an area of 34,000 square meters and is formed naturally by accumulated sand, resembling a crescent moon—hence the name “Moon Beach.” With clear river water and clean sands, the area has been expanded into a beach sports zone and a natural sandy beach bathing area. The beach bathing area offers amenities such as an underwater palace, café, water amusement valley, and children’s sand play pool. Its relaxing and fun water-based entertainment facilities keep visitors coming back for more.

Happy Water World includes water slides, mushroom fountains, and water spray castles, offering both entertainment and the joy of aquatic fitness.
