Jinhe is located on the southern bank of the Heilongjiang River, just over 10 kilometers from the Sino-Russian border city of Heihe, and is known as the backyard garden of Heihe. The area enjoys a pleasant climate, distinct seasons, beautiful mountains and clear waters, and delightful scenery.

The Shijin River within the area boasts rippling blue waters, golden fish flashing like jewelry, and birds soaring overhead—like a celestial maiden’s sash cast casually across the mountains, shimmering with golden light and winding gracefully. On both banks, the Laojinshan and Wanghuashan mountains are lush and verdant, with fragrant wildflowers in bloom. In summer, while other places swelter under intense heat, the Shijin River area offers refreshing mountain breezes and moist air that captivate and enchant visitors. By autumn, the river’s waters recede to reveal stones beneath, flanked by tree-lined hills adorned with colorful foliage. In winter, the river bends are draped in white ribbons of ice, and the snowy wilderness stretches endlessly, inspiring awe at nature’s wondrous craftsmanship.

Today, the Jinhe “Chuangguandong” Film and Television Cultural Tourism Area, built along the Shijin River, adds a touch of humanistic charm to Jinhe’s mysterious landscape. Sites featured in the drama such as the gold mining site, the Heiyan’er Tavern, and the “Zhu Family Courtyard” attract large numbers of tourists daily who come to explore, sightsee, and deeply experience the arduous journey their ancestors undertook in the brave venture of “Chuangguandong” (venturing into China’s northeast).
