Woniu Lake Water Park

is an important part of Jiushan National Forest Park, covering a total area of 21,000 mu, including 17,000 mu of water surface and 2,000 mu of mountainous land. The vast expanse of Woniu Lake nestles in the heart of the undulating Fengyang Mountain Range. It is a man-made lake with a capacity of 103 million cubic meters and an area of 11.1 square kilometers, built by the people of Fengyang in 1958 with their wisdom and hard work, hence also known as the Fengyang Mountain Reservoir. It is located to the north of the road from Jiushandong to Chan ku Temple and to the east of the area between Songji and Jiushandong, encompassing a large body of water. Here, green mountains layer upon layer, bamboo groves flourish, floating clouds drift over the hills, and wild geese fly while fish leap — making it an ideal spot for leisure and recreation.

Originally, there was no reservoir here, just a small village named Enihe. Later, the village was relocated, and a dam was built to block the river, creating the reservoir. Upon completion, the Enihe Reservoir controlled a catchment area of 285 square kilometers, with the reservoir covering more than 500 hectares. The dam is 22.8 meters high and 7 meters wide at the top, with the Heihu Highway running across the top of the dam.

Woniu Lake Water Park is located in the southeastern part of the provincial scenic area Woniu Lake, about 16 kilometers from Heihe City. The Woniu Lake Scenic Area centers around Woniu Lake, with mountains encircling the water on all sides. The water park features over 60 types of pleasure boats, and a sandy beach bathing area has been built along the shore. Visitors can relax on the fine sandy beach, enjoying the sunshine and breeze, or take a dip in the designated swimming area to frolic in the water and experience the joy of being close to nature. They can also experience the thrill of speeding across the water on a motorboat, or take a lake cruise to take in the beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains — making it an ideal summer leisure and holiday destination.
