Wuma River

Wuma River is located in Wumahe District, Yichun City. It’s likely that the district was named after this river. A dam was built upstream on the Wuma River, significantly reducing its water flow, and it no longer has the surging waves of the past. The water of the Wuma River is crystal clear, even clearer than that of rivers in the south of the Yangtze. In winter, the river freezes over, presenting a vast expanse of white. The holes in the ice were broken open by nearby residents to fetch water, and the cool stream flows continuously. I really miss those carefree days when we could drink the water freely.

As daylight fades, the moon is already visible. The distant sky is tinged with purple from the light reflected off the snow, and the bare poplar trees along the riverbank are still waiting for their spring. In the distance, there’s an indistinct outline of mountains, which blends with the sunset glow, becoming part of its layered colors.
