Xing’an Reservoir

Xing’an Reservoir, also known as Xishan Reservoir, is the largest water conservancy project in the history of Yichun City. The project is situated on the middle reaches of the Yichun River, a first-order tributary of the Tangwang River, approximately 2 kilometers west of Cuiluan District. It is a large-scale comprehensive water conservancy hub primarily used for flood control and water supply, with additional functions including power generation, irrigation, environmental enhancement, tourism, and forest fire prevention. Once completed, in conjunction with downstream embankments, the reservoir can raise the flood protection standard for downtown Yichun to a 50–100 year recurrence interval, effectively mitigating flooding along the Yichun River.

The project mainly consists of a clay-core rockfill dam, a spillway on the right bank, a mixed-type power station, and water intake structures for supply. It has a total designed storage capacity of 145 million cubic meters, a dam crest length of 961.35 meters, a maximum dam height of 33.01 meters, a hydropower installed capacity of 10,000 kilowatts, an annual urban water supply of 140 million cubic meters, and an irrigation area of 18,000 mu. The total volume of main construction work is 2.2077 million cubic meters, with a total construction period of 4 years and an estimated total investment of 370 million yuan.
