Crescent Lake Park

Crescent Lake Park is located at the foot of Beishan Mountain in the center of Nancha District, Yichun City. The entire lake is crescent-shaped, which is how it got its name “Crescent Lake.” The park covers an area of approximately 37,000 square meters, including a water surface of 12,000 square meters and squares and hilly areas of 25,000 square meters. A reinforced concrete three-arch bridge spans the lake and leads directly to the foot of the mountain, with three pavilions along the bridge where visitors can rest. On the cliff by the lake bend, there are four large characters reading “Crescent Lake View” written by Chen Lei, former Governor of Heilongjiang Province. There is a plaza by the lake that can accommodate over a thousand people. Beneath the cliff stands an antique-style building, and halfway up the mountain behind it is a mushroom-shaped pavilion where visitors can relax or chess players can play. Walking up the steep mountain steps, flanked by lush man-made forests, you reach the Summit Moon-Viewing Pavilion at the peak, where the entire Nancha District spreads out before your eyes. In the distance, the Yongcui River winds gracefully like a jade ribbon, while the mountain city, dotted with high-rises, sits nestled within a highland basin. Below, the crescent-shaped lake mirrors the high-rise buildings on the south bank and the mountain peaks to the north like a painting. In winter, the entire lake becomes a beautiful piece of jade, serving as a natural ice-skating rink where athletes speed by. China’s renowned speed skaters Cao Guifeng, Feng Qingbo, and Guan Chengxue all started their journeys from here, emerging from the deep forest to step onto the world stage.
