Taiping Island

Introduction: Taiping Island is located in Taiping Village, Hongguang Township, Jiayin County. It lies 5 km east of Jiayin County town and 4.5 km west of the Longgu Mountain Nature Reserve, and consists of a northern and a southern island. The northern island faces Russia across the Heilongjiang River, while the southern island faces the southern bank across the Taiping Channel.

Hongguang Township: The government of Hongguang Township is situated at the 13 km mark on the Jiayi Highway. To the north, it faces Russia across the river; to the east and south, it borders Baixing Township; and to the west, it neighbors the Jiayin Farm. Known as the “Satellite Township,” it covers an area of 1,320 square kilometers, with 104,943 mu of arable land. The township governs 8 administrative villages, 16 natural hamlets, and 2 forest farms, with a total of 1,320 households, a population of 5,200, including 988 farming households and 3,638 agricultural residents.
