After enjoying the breathtaking scenery along the Heilongjiang River, please come ashore to visit the Oroqen Ethnic Village. Wulaga Shengli Village is the Oroqen Ethnic Village. Historically, the customs representing the production and life of the ethnic group—such as hunting with hunting dogs and horses, fishing and trapping moose with "birch bark boats," catching deer in alkali flats, living in "chum" tents, crafting birch bark artifacts, and wearing traditional ethnic clothing—are still visible today. The Oroqen people originally made a living through hunting. Their nomadic hunting lifestyle and ingenious hunting methods form a unique chapter in the living tapestry of the Lesser Khingan Mountains.

Drive eastward from Shengli Village

for 1.5 kilometers, and you’ll reach the Wulaga Gold Mine, a centrally administered state-owned enterprise. This emerging open-pit mine primarily mines vein gold, and a natural gold nugget weighing as much as 36 taels was once discovered here, earning it fame both domestically and internationally. The history, taboos, legends, and folklore of gold mining hold great appeal for visitors, making it an ideal destination for gold industry tourism and DIY gold panning experiences.
