Baishantou Shalin is located in the Baishantou Scenic Area, 120 kilometers from Jiayin County and 8 kilometers from Wuyun. The sand forest is not concentrated in one area but is divided into four or five patches, covering approximately 2 hectares.

This area was originally a sandy mountain covered with a layer of humus and rich fertile soil. The sand forest has taken shape over many years and is a rare and unique geological structure in the three northeastern provinces — a masterpiece of nature’s craftsmanship. It has been formed through hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of millions of years of wind erosion, sunlight, rainforest exposure, as well as earthquakes, magma eruptions, and crustal movements. The visible sand peaks, columns, and screens change color with the seasons, weather, time of day, cloud cover, moonlight, and sunlight, offering varying viewing experiences that resemble an exquisite traditional Chinese ink painting.

The scenery is most beautiful to admire in spring, summer, and autumn, especially during the colorful foliage season in autumn when the grayish-white sand forest contrasts strikingly with the vibrant hues of the surrounding mountains.

Scenic Area Address: 8 kilometers upstream of the Heilongjiang River, Wuyun Town, Jiayin County, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province

By Bus: Take a bus from Yichun to Jiayin, then transfer to a minibus or taxi to Wuyun.

By Car: Starting from Yichun, enter S204 and drive 178.8 km, turn left onto S311 and drive 63.8 km, then turn right onto Tongjiang Road and drive 1.0 km, turn right onto Tonda Road, and drive 240 meters to reach the destination.
